Yes, Naploeon was only outdone by pure conglomeration of opposing resources and manpower. I've read a few biographies of his and it's so obvious that he was a military genius. Not only was he a professional tactician but he could instill courage and willingness to fight in his men. He not only had the leadership genius necessary to lead men to battle, but the strategic prowess to use them as efficiently as possible.

On a scale of 1 to 10 he was among the very best. Very few had a feel for the battlefield like he did, and as the head of state without anyone to answer to, he was able to make the call without going through channels which saved time on the battlefield.

Napoleon Bonaparte was very intelligent, showing early signs of it in childhood. He got a scholarship for military academy at age 9. At age 16, he became a lieutenant, passing a 2 year course in 1. In battle, not only was he known for being ferocious and brave, he knew how to handle his troops, if they were obedient, he would be friendly; if they were disobedient, he was aggressive. In ruling government, he passed the Napoleonic Code, which greatly improved France's economy, and got rid of corrupt leaders.
