Christopher was not de-sainted. He was removed from the Universal Calendar of Saints because there was little evidence to support his very existence or of his heroic virtue. Everything known about him was based on legend. It is still allowed to pray to him, however. If he is not in heaven, someone will take your call.

There is no official record of Saint Christopher being desanctified by the Catholic Church. However, in 1969, his feast day was removed from the Roman Catholic liturgical calendar due to lack of historical evidence about his life. Some believe his cult was based on legend rather than confirmed fact.
