The barons were the leaders of the troops that fought for him and won him the Kingdom of England at The Battle of Hastings (his fellow Normans). He rewarded their loyalty by giving them baronies (replacing the conquered Saxon barons). As the new barons were seen by the English as invaders (they brought new ways and were generally harsh in suppressing the people), they supported each other and were loyal to King William because they needed his support and because they were grateful to him for their new positions. Thus his barons gave him firm control of his new realm.
Yes. Initially he had problems with the people who were the previous landowners, but after killing some and driving others abroad he was able to control those left by having his friends build wooden forts to prevent the local populations from attacking the new landowners.
He was a very good leader
William the Conqueror was a very clever man, building castles all over England. He was also a tough, brave, inspirational and religious person. William was known for his good qualities but also had a few bad ones. He was a very vicious man, involved in a lot of battles, and killed millions of people.
Yes because every one wanted to now him so they stayed good friends with him
William the Conqueror was a good leader and a bad leader at the same time. He was good for many ways including the feudal system and the domesday book. The feudal system was very helpful, this was just the way William dealt out land. The Domesday book was a survey, but not an ordinary survey, it stored information about different villages and how much tax they owed to the King. William, on the other hand, would go to villages, burn everything down and rape all of the female inhabitants. All in all William was not a perfect leader, but he was a good one at least. I hoped this helped, Yours sincerely, Anonymous.

William the Conqueror helped Britain in many ways such as the introduction of the Feudal system, but he also started things like the harrying of the North so he was not always good. I think it is up to you to decide, he certainly changed England though.
