Was chamberlin Prime Minister before churchill?
The first time (1940) Churchill succeeded Neville Chamberlain. The second time (1951) he succeeded Clement Attlee.
The Prime Minister of the UK preceding Winston Churchill was Neville Chamberlain (Conservative), who came from a very unfortunate political family. Neville's relative Austin Chamberlain was the first Conservative leader to not be Prime Minister and Neville himself became the first Prime Minister to not fight a general election as he took over from Stanley Baldwin in 1936.
Though Winston Churchill was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom for most of World War II and for 2 months after Germany surrendered, Winston Churchill was not the prime minister immediately after World War 2; this would be Clement Attlee. However, Churchill did become prime minister again after the war ended on 1951 October 26.
