no but it was the destructive hurricane but it was not the worst the Galveston Hurricane of 1900 was the worst it killed estimate 6000 to 12000 people and done damage to property of estimate of 20 million dollars in U.S dollars back then but in modern US dollars it was 526 million dollars

In terms of pressure it was Wilma, at 882 millibars (the lower the pressure, the stronger the storm). Worldwide, the tropical cyclone with the highest winds was Typhoon Haiyan with 195 mph winds. In terms of pressure it was Typhoon Tip at 870 millibars.

No. Hurricane Katrina was a very powerful hurricane, but was by no means the most powerful. At peak strength Katrina had sustained winds of 175 mph and a pressure of 902 millibars (the lower the pressure the stronger the storm.

In terms of wind speed, the strongest storm to receive the label of hurricane was Hurricane Patricia of 2015 with sustained winds of 200 mph.

In terms of pressure that title goes to Hurricane Wilma with a pressure of 882 millibars.

However the strongest tropical cyclone (the generic term for a hurricane) on record was the Pacific storm Typhoon Tip, with 190 mph winds and a pressure of 870 millibars.
