They say that yes, it was an accident. However, this may not be the case. Clarisse says that the kids in her class don't like her. She also says that children kill each other for fun. Later, Mrs. Montag suggests that Guy Montag drives the bullet car and run over some animals. Putting all of this together, it is likely that one of the kids in Clarrise's class killed her. Also, Captain Beatty says that her family was a problem, and that they were watching them. He also says that she was an odd duck and insinuates that they have to get rid of them. Beatty calls her a 'time bomb' and says that she's better off dead. It's possible that they killed her, either because she was a usurper, or because they considered it a mercy killing.
So, although it is ruled as an accident, as a reader one must consider that she was killed on purpose. Only the late Ray Bradbury could say for sure.
In the novel "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury, Clarisse is killed in an accident caused by a speeding car that hit her while she was walking along the road. It is implied that her death was not intentional but rather the result of a society desensitized to human life and devoid of empathy.
She is hit by a car and killed. It was not an accident because the kids who killed her hit people for the enjoyment of it, as described later in the book.
She died from getting hit by a car

Her death deeply affects the protagonist, Guy Montag, and serves as a catalyst for his inner transformation and awakening. Clarisse's curious and carefree nature symbolizes a contrasting worldview to the oppressive society depicted in the novel.
In the 60th anniversary edition of Fahrenheit 451, Clarisse does not die. Clarisse is a character who influences the protagonist, Guy Montag, early in the story, but she does not meet a tragic end in the novel.
Mildred claims that Clarisse was run over by a car and killed. She dismisses any suggestion that Clarisse's death could have been suspicious or related to her interactions with Montag.
