That depends on the opinion of who is speaking. If it was under the Hawaiian's opinion US would not be justified. If under a US citizen's opinion at the time, since there was a huge amount of jingoism. There was essentially a large push to imperialize.
Many, including Samuel Clemens, felt that it was unjustified to annex Hawaii and remove the royal family.
It was not, and can never be.
CUBA, but given independence in 1902. PUERTO RICO, still a territory, GUAM, still a territory, The PHILLIPINES, bought from Spain for $20 million and then given independence in 1946. For the fun of it we annexed the HAWAIIAN Islands in August 1898.

If you take the region as a whole I would say Anquilla Bermuda British Virgin Islands Cayman Islands Falkland Islands Montserrat South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands
They took off from six IJN aircraft carriers which had stationed themselves a few hundred miles north of the Hawaiian Islands. At that time, there were no bombers in the world capable of making a land-based attack on Pearl Harbor.

Each island was previously ruled by a separate ali'i. King Kamehameha conquered the other rulers to unite the Hawaiian islands.
People buy the islands then you take them over
If you plan on taking a relaxing, pampering trip, a Hawaiian cruise might be right up your alley. Take a 3 to 8 day excursion on the cruiseline of your choice and visit four Hawaiian islands. Hawaiian cruises are a great alternative to flying because you can view the majestic ocean and get some sun at the same time.
Unification was completed in 1810.
The overthrow of the Monarchy was in 1893.
An underwater volcano which currently is under and slighty off shore of the island of Hawai'i (the big island). The lava would breach the surface of the ocean, create land and after a while the 'island' would drift. the process would start again, create an island and it would drift. All of the Hawaiian islands were at one point in time, above that underwater volcano. If you look at a map, you will see that even beyond the main Hawaiian islands there is a looong chain of islands. They once originated above that same volcano and eventually after drifting, sank slightly. All of the Hawaiian islands are slowly sinking as they drift as well. It will take perhaps half a million years but the island known as Hawai'i will one day be much smaller. There will be other islands in place by then though, such as the island currently off the shore of Hawai'i island that is currently being made.
The creation of the Hawaiian Island Chain is the result of slow passage of a geological plate over a "hot spot" below the plate that pushes heated magma up through cracks. The older islands are those farther west, and the younger are those farther east, in order. From oldest to youngest, they are Ni'ihau, Kaua'i, O'ahu, Moloka'i, Lina'i, Kaho'olawe, Maui, and Hawai'i. A new island is beginning to form, but it will take a long time for it to reach the surface.
The Battle of Midway took place over the islands of the Midway group in the Pacific Ocean and to the north and west of the islands.
there are only 8 hawaiian islands... Big Island, Maui, Kaho'olawe, Lana'i, Moloka'i, O'ahu, Kaua'i, and Ni'ihau... Las Vegas, Nevada is often referred to as the "9th Island", due to the fact that many Hawaiians take vacation there.
No , the "Rule of Law" should take precedence over political expediency .
