Shem, a biblical figure, was not specifically described as being black. Biblical genealogies mostly focus on lineage and family relationships. The racial identities of biblical figures are not explicitly mentioned in the texts.

∙ 14y agoYes. Because if the original man was black then so was "everyone " else in this time bracket. It wasn't until Japhet his brother after the flood during the exile of the tower of babel by God that his complexion lighten due to surviving colder climate change in the north. Else one third of the world would've been wiped out. So basically up until the changing of languages all people were of one complexion and that is black. Other Semites such as Moses, and Joseph, Visor of Egypt's' brothers were mistaken for being a Semite, because they were black.
