NO!!! In western society, slavery has never occurred since Roman times.

Western society (Britain, France, Spain and Portugal), have traded in slaves from Africa to America. Hence African -Americans.

In a more enlightened and free society, there is no slavery.

Great Britain passed the Abolition of Slavery Act in 1833, 30 years before the American Civil War , which ended slavery in the USA.
