Yes it was. Most came with either a 389 or 400 but the 326 was a nice option for general use. It was rated at 250 horsepower, had respectable torque and, if you didn't romp it alot it got decent gas mileage.

i think the GTO has the LS2 6.2 That depends on what your idea of a Pontiac engine is. The "New" Pontiac GTO was available with the 6.0 engine. If you are talking about a traditional Pontiac engine, the largest factory offered engine is the 455 from 1970-1976.
