Please note the correct spelling "Amsterdam" (no "n")

The majority of the cruelty that took place during the Holocaust was in Eastern Europe. However, many Dutch Jews were sent to concentration camps as well. Anne Frank is a great example of this. Anne Frank hid secretly with her mom, dad, sister and other Jews in a warehouse in Amsterdam for 3 years from the Nazis. The Franks' hiding place was later discovered, and were deported to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Anne and her sister, Margot had died of typhus.

Anne's dad, Otto, was the only person to survive, and found Anne's diary in the secret annex after the war. He later published the diary, and Anne's story became famous throughout the world; it was published in over 60 languages.
