During World War II up to the capitulation of Italy in l943. Mercifully, there was no shock wave of anti-Italianism, as there was with the Japanese. the Italians , for the duration ( of the War) never directly attacked any US territory. ( local combat, yes). It was a horrible tragedy as for the most part Italians have been Good Guys- and Gals.
