This is really a question of opinion but I study World War 2 a lot, so my opinion might amount to something. I think that it was a mistake because getting sudetenland from czechslovakia, strengthened Hitler's supporting base, which was vast enough already. The sudets were german-speaking people that felt persecuted in Czechslovakia. By appeasing to Hitler's demand, the allies made Germany stronger and well, truth be told, nobody really wanted to have another war. However, the war might not have lasted as long if they had nipped the problem in the buds which would be to say, no appeasement, and plot against Hitler since he had announced himself as an enemy of Europe. This is purely my opinion though.
