The most recent information I can find on Olive's murder, which took place in 1970 in Rotura, NZ, is a blog called Law Management entry dated July 14, 2010. It is a review of the case with no new information added. The blog includes some words of sadness from one of the original investigators in the case. New interest in the case was aroused when a new TV program "Sensing Murder" attempts to investigate the case using psychics. The program aired in 2007 and I can find no record of any new information on the case. See the links below to review this information.
No, many people have confessed but none were ever proven.
Was this murder ever solved? I don't think so therefore I don't have a proper answer. I thought that the murder took place in the early sixties.
The crime has never been solved even though there have been over fifty confessions.
I hope so but they closed her case so i doubt it, and they don't have a body
Some advantages are that you get respect from the law and you should feel 'happy' that you have solved a murder or what ever you are doing that field. Also... you can get to work out who did the murder, and how, what is the murder weapon, and if it was a gun or a long distance weapon where it came from. X

Yes, the murder of Francis Castillo in 1987 remains unsolved. Despite extensive investigations at the time, no suspects were identified or charged in connection with the crime. The case remains open and unresolved.
