yes sir! there was a general mills factory in STC,but it sadly closed in 2002. the west Chicago cereal plant still operates 24/7. the STC plant closed after the deal with pillsbury. Top General Mills management didn't want the STC plant operating at no less than full strength production,so the workload was shifted to west chicago,and the belvidere plant takes care of the rest. it sucked seeing GM leave STC after being there since 1965,and the closing took 300 jobs with it,and that was 10 years ago! think of what a plant closeing today would be like! good luck buddy! hope you didn't have someone lose there job in the closing,or maybe you're a former STC resident that's long since moved away.
