Yes. While the inductees were standing in single file lines dressed only in their underware, or naked, going thru induction processing, usually held in US government leased hotels; a US Marine team of normally two NCOs would point to a man and say, "you, step over here, you're a marine." Or, "you two men, over here, you're going in the marines." Etc.

There was a military draft in all major US wars of the 20th century. This discounts all US Military operations (campaigns) after 1975, as well as the Philippine Surrection of 1900 and the pursuit of Poncho Villa in 1916.
