Have the heads and head gasket checked possible thermostat in backwards
check the temperature control sensor....
If your heating system is not maintaining a consistent temperature, cycling on and off frequently, or if you notice a lack of response when adjusting the temperature settings, it may be a sign that you need a new thermostat. Additionally, if your thermostat is outdated or showing signs of wear and tear, it may be time for a replacement.
To test a Honeywell thermostat, you can start by setting the temperature to a desired level and checking if the heating or cooling system turns on. You can also check if the display is showing the correct temperature and if the buttons are responsive. Additionally, you can use a separate thermometer to compare the temperature readings with those on the thermostat. If the thermostat is not functioning properly, you may need to consult a professional for further inspection and repair.
Drain the radiator into a container. Remove the upper radiator hose from the engine at the thermostat. Remove the bolts, housing and the thermostat. Clean both surfaces and install the thermostat and gasket. Reinstall the housing and upper hose and top off the coolant.
1. If the engine is running hotter than usual. 2. If the vehicle's temperature gauge is showing the low. 3. If upon inspection you see an open thermostat valve Symptoms like these likely indicate you need a new thermostat
diagram showing where the thermostat is located
If you are not getting heated air blowing from the heater core and your engine coolant temperature gauge is showing LOW or below normal , ( then YES , IT'S POSSIBLE that your engine cooling thermostat is sticking open )
The gauge should be showing a minimum 195 with engine warmed up. I would start with replacing the thermostat.
Drain the radiator into a container. Remove the upper radiator hose from the thermostat housing at the engine. Remove the two bolts and remove the housing and thermostat. Clean both surfaces and install the new thermostat and seal and reinstall the housing. reinstall the radiator hose, tighten the clamps and refill with a 50/50 mixture of antifreeze and water.jd
If your thermostat is showing a blank screen even though it has no batteries, it could be due to a power issue. Check if the thermostat is properly connected to the power source or if there is a problem with the wiring. It is also possible that the thermostat itself is malfunctioning and may need to be replaced.
The side of the thermostat that has a spring showing faces into the engine.
It is on the back of the engine on the top left and right (above the plugs). for more detail look on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLIKKXnM3pk is a video showing how to replace.
