An oil tanker has 2 sources of oil sludge or waste. The tanks and the engine room.
In the oil tanks the residue after tank cleaning gets pumped into the slop tanks which are 2 tanks usually the last 2 tanks on the cargo deck.
They are specially constructed with heating and has a shape which make them easy to pump down.
after all the residue has been pumped into the slop tanks they will be heated up and that will help the separation of oil and water. when a water layer has been measured under the oil the water will get pumped out. during this pumping a sample of water will continually get measured for oil content. The measurement is getting performed by ODME (Oil Discharge Monitoring Equipment) and if the measurement is higher than 15 PPM (Parts Per Million) the valves will automatically close and bypass the overboard discharge.
The left over sludge or slop will be send to a plant ashore for burning.
Gross negligence, among other things.
You can use plain water to get sludge out of your car radiator. You can use Marvel Mystery oil to remove sludge from the oil pan.
If An Oil Tanker Leaks On The Ocean The Water Is Poluted and Animals Are Hurt Or Killed By The Oil. Hope This Helps! ♥
Oil and water do not mix. Oil floats to the surface of the water.
maybe if you had an oil tanker
the oil tanker is the ship in which there are big tanks for oil and container ship takes the goods packed in the containers which are totally water prof and air tight
Because a pebble is denser than water thus making it sink oil is not denser than water. you can test this by pouring some oil in a glass of water it floats on top of the water it doesn't sink it is the same theory with the oil tanker in the sea.
A sludge judge helps separate oil from water. My guess is you would use it in any type of body of water that may have had an oil spill in it recently such as a well or a pond.
Normally a Tanker carries some liquid, mostly Oil, therefore the term "Oil Tanker".
No. It will turn into an unusable sludge.
It was not an oil tanker, but a drilling platform.
