We have well water and for the past several weeks we have notices it smells stinkey?

ANS 2 - Unless you have a wide well with no cover it's extremely unlikely than an animal has died in it. Sewage water is also an unlikely, but possible reason if cattle are grazing in this filed or a septic field has been built nearby. All septic fields and pipes should be at least 100 feet from wells (Mandatory in many areas) - Regardless of these suppositions, everybody consuming water from any well should have it biologically checked at least once a year. I would strongly advise you to do this now.

∙ 9y agoGet a lab test of a sample of your water. This will tell you exactly what is causing the smell. Possibly iron or other impurities in the ground.
