The male betta only seems to 'hate' each other. As they are so flamboyant aggressive when it comes to flashing their beauty for the female. Since mating is the primary motive for the dominant males, they look at other males (or even in a mirror0 as competition for the girls.
I had a 'community' tank for many decades, on/off, and whenever I got the urge for a beautiful Siamese Fighting Fish (their old skool name) they had no problem with the other species of fish. However, as all hobbyists know; Cichlids can be aggressive, esp. when they're larger than others in the tank. So keep the sizes comparative, and you might get to enjoy a colorful male betta along with your gouramis, angels, cats, etc. Watch it with 'characins' as they are the KNOWN FIN-NIPPERS, they cause havoc when taking off bits/pieces of others long fins, causing bacterial growths or disease to grow.
All small fish like guppies, goldfish, chines fighting fish, other and other battas. The one thing you have to be careful about is the foodask the personthat gives you the fish for proper food and how much to feed it. If you I suggest that you feed it a pinch evry morning and night also if you have maltipul difrent breeds of fish you put the food all together an take about 2 piches every morning and night
yes they lay on the surface of water to absorb sunlight and can weigh up to 2 tons. They do get along with other fish but do eat small fish as well.
Do you mean will they mate with other fish or get along with other fish? They will not mate with other fish, but they will get along without tetras.
not most swordfish get along with other fish
No you cant. They will eat the other fish. i could have the wrong fish here but if you're talking about a beta fish, they get along fine with anything that does not have large finns, i have had several in large tanks with a wide variety of other fish and everybody does well.
i'v tryed puttting male betta's with other fish and never turn out well (death) and don't put them together but the females do fine with other fish and get along with each other
Fish.
A dozen tetras would do well in a small fish tank.Betta Fish would also do great in smaller tanks but should be kept alone without any other fish in the tank(unless the other fish is one of the few that get along with Bettas). Goldfish do not do well in smaller fish tanks because they are very dirty fish that need a lot of filtration and room to swim.
well this won't be much help becase its not a fish but i know that snails will do veary veary well with bettas. sorry that's all i know... :)
well i dont. i have a betta and it killed two of my gold fish that i put in there so no sorry :(
It depends on what you say on getting along. Sometimes males will fight other males over a female and sometimes they may feel to cramped in their tank. If a fish is chasing another and tearing up the others fins, they may be telling each other they want to spawn.
Tilapia are in the cichlid family along with such popular aquarium fish as the Oscar and the freshwater angelfish.
It is a misconception that betta fish do not get along with other fish. While intolerant to their own species, bettas can get along with other fish so long as they are not easy to mistake for another male betta - such as fancy guppies - or fin-nipping fish like many tetras that often go for long-finned fish. Female bettas can be housed with guppies, however.
