The program will allow changes to a household size ONLY if:

1. It changes because of a court order for child custody, or by marriage (and in the case of the latter the income will be re-determined)

2. The household is disabled and needs a live-in caregiver (must have proper documentation by physician, and the proposed caregiver must undergo the same background check as anyone else in the Program)

How do I qualify for section 8 housing?

Click on the related link i would like to know if me and my wife are qualified, our total income is 30,000 .We are both on social sercurity and are having a roughttime paying our medical and bills. Thank you if both of you are on Social Security, this means that you are a disabled or elderly couple. Coupled with the low income of $30,000 per year, there is no question that you are qualified. But anyone on a low income can qualify for section 8 housing. However, elderly and disabled people often get preference over traditional families.
