However, the working conditions were very harsh, as were punishments for not meeting production targets. This led to poor quality of life for the workers. Additionally, peasants and unskilled workers were often employed in jobs requiring skilled workers, and so there were often flaws in the machinery produced.

collective farming was a novel feature of the 5 year plan.farmers were forced into it. great progess was achieved . russia emerged powerful but all this was done at the cost of liberty of people.thus though success it was done at the cost of liberty of people
