No, not as the term "boy band" is commonly understood. The Beatles were a band composed of young males and so technically could be called a "boy band," but that's pretty much where the similarities ended: they were a bit older than the sort of groups the term is usually used to describe, they all played instruments instead of just singing with a backing band, they didn't do much in the way of choreography, and they had some actual talent (okay, that last one is a bit facetious).
An better argument could be made that the Jackson 5 were a "boy band", ranging in age from six to thirteen when they started (the Beatles were all at least 17 when they took that name, though Lennon, McCartney, and Harrison had been playing together since Harrison ... the youngest of the three ... was 14), several of the members being essentially vocalists only (I'm not really counting "tambourine" or other simple percussion as "instruments"), and with choreography being a significant part of their performances. I'd hesitate to claim they were "the first," though.
Probably the Beatles, thought it might of been something earlier than that.

The Beatles.
Yes, the Beatles actually added several members to their band. Originally George was not part of the band, but still filled in as needed. After a few years he became one of the Beatles. Also, Ringo was not the Beatles' first drummer, the first drummer left the band so they let Ringo (real name Richard Starkey) join.
