Not exactly. I have seen cowpox and sheep pox , and they are transmissible to humans from open pustules , but are easily treated and are quite mild when they jump to humans. More like chicken pox than small pox. Anyway , it just reinforces proper handwashing.
The reason we were able to "erradicate" (said that way because we have stores in labs) smallpox was because the human serotype is only able to affect humans. The smallpox vaccine is made from cowpox, which is similar enough to smallpox to provide immunity, but cannot infect us.
A lot of farm animals like cattle, poultry, and pigs can be affected greatly from that disease. Animals like dogs and cats can be affected by it too.
