How do you by- pass a heater core on a Chevy Impala?

open up your hood, and look at the 2 heater hoses going into the fire wall (the ones made out of rubber) the aluminum ones are for the a/c. disconnect them i believe they are hose clamps with an 8 mm. go to auto zone and buy a heater core bypass kit. or a simple fitting to where you can connect both hoses. put a hose clamp on both sides so it doesn't leak. make sure the hoses aren't hanging down in the way of any thing. and you are done

How do you change a heater core in a 91 S10 pickup?

From the inside. Look under the passenger side dash. There is a big plastic box. The heater core is inside it. The heater core hoses are about 1 inch in diameter running from the right side of the engine to the firewall. Get new hoses and hose clamps while you're getting your new heater core. They don't cost much, but if the old ones fail six months from now it will cost you plenty. You might as well buy new coolant while you're at it, too. If you do, flush the cooling system before you start. Cut the old hoses off at the heater core, take the clamps off, cut the remaining hose off of the old heater core. If you have an air compressor, it might be worth the trouble to blow the coolant out of the heater core at this point, to keep it from running all over the interior. Remove all the fasteners holding the heater box ("modular duct" according to my book). Pull it out, and the heater core is behind it. As they say, installation is the reverse of removal. It should be the same from '82 to '93, or maybe beyond.

Can you block the heater core hose on a 98 ford windstar?

Its as simple as getting a flush connector from the parts store and looping the heater hoses using the connector as a bridge. this will buy you time to get the core replaced If you're going to do that much work, just replace the heater core. If you're hesitating because heater cores are "always" deep inside the dash, and take huge effort to get to - fear not! The heater core on the Windstars are really easy to get to and replace!
