this is only my opinion. I think the tube fed looks neat. I have had both styles of rifles and you will not find any difference in performance. It will be faster to load a clip than a tube fed style rifle same goes for unloading.

I have one and paid $150.00 for it in mint condition.
Daisy made 2 loading systems for this rifle. Gravity fed and spring fed. Unscrew the barrel insert from the end of the barrel. Pull it out and you will find a tube attached to the insert. Load the BB's into the tube and carefully replace the insert. The model 25 loads exactly the same way.
under the barrel is a long tube. at the end of the tube is a knob. twist the knob to lossen it then with draw the inner tube. next back 10 rounds of 22 long or shot into the tube. do not put shells in head first, rear first. replace the inner tube and lock it in place. pump the rifle and your 06 is loaded....................
The Winchester Model 190-22 caliber rifle has a tube located just below the barrel that is unscrewed and pulled out. This tube is called a plunger. A 22 caliber long rifle bullet is recommended for this type of rifle. The plunger will hold 15 to 17 bullets. After loading, reinsert the plunger and tighten.

Your Belnap B964 was made for them by the Savage Firearms Company. This is a Savage model 87J.It is loaded by first unscrew the tube under the barrel a half turn, then withdraw the tube and load your 22LR.ammo down the tube with the bullet end of the cartridge pointing upward.I do not know how many rounds the tube held but I would start with 8rds,and see if the tube can be inserted and turned. After that just pull back the bolt and release the bolt forward.this will chamber a round into the chamber.I hope that you find this helpful.
65- 100$
BSA has made over 40 different Air Rifles. Exactly what model are you asking about. Most are break barrel models. Simply cock the barrel down load the pellet and restore the barrel and fire. But it would be helpful if you listed the model number of the rifle you are asking about.. ( See the link below.)BSA have a range of official tutorial videos on You Tube. This one shows how to load a spring air rifle Simply do an internet search for 'BSA guns you tube' to find the full range of tutorial video's.
Gun made by Savage as 6 with A, AB, B letters that follow. Stevens numbers 76 and 87, in tube feed and same with other companies but this one is a Sears. Stocks also are the same as Stevens & Springfield models 87 tube feed. Numrich mostly has them but as of this writing, they are sold out.lc Jones
The Springfield name was used from 1920 to 1948 but I can't find a listing for a model 87. there are 2 Springfield 87A .22 rifles currently !!/2/05)listed on Auction Arms one is id ed as a Springfield Stevens and the other as a Springfield 87A i own a Wards Western Field model 87 tube fed semi auto .22 that appears to be identical to these two rifles i know it to be at over 50 years old. I also have one and it is dated to 1968
