Columbus NEVER landed in North America. He didn't know it existed. He landed in the Bahamas. In the late 1700's the Italian American's began the story that Columbus landed in America so they could get a special day and parade like the Irish American's for St. Patrick's day. Columbus was not Italian, but Spanish. This is how history is changed.
