For most cars the battery is under the hood and located in one of the front corners. It is black and box shaped (about 10" by 6" and 10" deep). It will have two large cables connected to the top.
Typically a car battery is located under the hood in the engine compartment. Some cars do have the battery located in the trunk compartment.
The battery can located anywhere on the car. Common locations are under the hood, in The trunk, and under a seat.

Please indicate what kind of battery you are speaking of. In other words, is it a car battery, phone battery, flashlight battery etc.
Go get a new battery using another car. Or get the dead car jump started using another vehicle. There are companies that have mobile battery services that will come right to your home or wherever the car is located and replace the battery.

In the 1991 Mercedes 500SL the battery is located in the trunk on the passenger (right) side of the car. -sf-
In a 1999 Lincoln Continental : The car battery is located in the engine compartment , on the drivers side of the engine compartment
the battery is located inside the trunk you have to remove the spare tire cover and it will be located on the right hand side of the car , there is a plastic cover you have to remove and the battery will be right there
