The Jews pressed Pilate to crucify Jesus, as the Jews did not have the power to crucify anybody, only the Romans had power. Technically the Romans crucified Jesus.

The Pope has said that the Jews are not to blame in the killing of Jesus. See the attached Related Link.

I, as a Christian do NOT blame the Jews for 'murdering' Christ. Jesus Christ died for our sins, as our savior. He died so that Christians, or followers of Christ, would have their salvation with The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit after death. In other words, he was the perfect sacrifice. Christians who believe that Jesus was "Murdered" by Jews are simply those who have not studied enough. Some are just misinformed. It was pre-ordained. If the Jews murdered Jesus, then it would be by "stoning to death". Or; Granting that the Jews murdered Jesus; It was God who made the Jews His instrument for Jesus dying and saving mankind. Therefore, Christians should be thanking the Jews not hating them.

No. The Romans did.

I wont change the response that was written above but clearly the person answering has not read The Bible or at the very least fails to understand it.

Jesus was brought to trial by the Jews. Was passed back and forth between a couple of judges both of which wanted nothing to do with his execution and found him innocent of the charges they were bringing against Jesus.

However there was a custom at the time to release one prisoner to the Jews durring the passover holidays and they refused to free Jesus and freed a criminal. The judge washed his hands of the entire event and allowed the Jews to have what they wanted and allowed the execution of Jesus.

Did Roman troops help carry out the sentence, yes. But the Jews were responsible for bringing him to trial, on totally untrue charges. Also there is no proof that the Romans that helped were not Jews. There were more than a few Roman Jews, Paul was one.

That being said I think the better question and one not often talked about is why did they do it. They were expecting a savior to come it had been prophesied about in the Torah/Old Testament.

Most of the Jews were expecting a physical kingdom. Jesus came to set up a kingdom in heaven. God had been helping the Jews destroy and conquer nations since they could remember. They assumed the Messiah would set up and rule from a physical kingdom. This was not the case, the new law that Jesus brought was completely different in almost every way from what they were use to.

No, the Romans did; nevertheless the corrupt priesthood did vigorously agitate for his brutal, animalistic and bestial torture and execution. The priesthood was corrupt, and as the Bible narrates in bed with the Romans.

______

There would have be no reason at all to want Jesus dead. At most, he would have been one of many men who had followings during that period, he wouldn't have been unique.

The Jewish religious leaders of Jesus' day were the one's who specifically sought His death. The Roman authorities carried it out. In another sense, according to the Bible teaching, we are all to blame since it is sin that made Jesus' death a necessity, and the Bible teaches that ll people are sinners.

Sometimes people fail to make the distinction between the Jewish religious leaders and Jews in general, (many of whom were Jesus' followers) and blame the Jews in general. This is a mistake and sometimes can also unfortunately be an excuse or a smokescreen for anti-semitic attitudes.

Were the Jews slaves that killed christ?

First off, the Jews did not kill Christ, the Romans did. However, ignoring that issue and the long-winded argumentation that would be required to discuss it, the answer is, "No". The Jews in Judaea (which was the Roman province where Jesus lived and was crucified) were free and independent people. The saga with slavery, if it occurred, would have happened nearly 1200+ years earlier.

What is the major sin done by Jews?

all sins are major but in my opinion the worst sin was killing the messiah. it was OK though because through them God's promise of having our sins washed away was fulfilled. Technically, the Jews didn't kill Jesus Christ. Then most definitely pressured Pilate into having him crucified, but they - the Jews - did not kill him.
