No at the End of WW2 the Russians Captured Berlin which was the capitol of Germany and under the agreement Berlin was divided up in to 4 parts Russian British French and American Zones

Russian Zone was Known as East Berlin and the rest as west Berlin but it was all Inside the Russian Occupied Zone

Later as only 3 Zones as the French pulled out of their occupied Territories
