The most common breed of horse is the Arabian Horse. It was one of the first ever refined breeds. The Arab, as it is sometimes called, is bred and loved by people all over the world. The rarest color is black, and the most common color is bay, although Arabians can be any color and pattern. Heights vary between 13.3 and 15.0 hands, although there are the occasional big big or tiny little.
A close second to the Arabian is a Throughbred. They are also bred everywhere over the world, although the U.S.A. and Europe seem to be the TB's biggest fans. Colors vary, although they usually are solid colors, not including dapples. Heights are usually between 15.0 and 17.0, with the occasional jump to extreme highs or lows.
Both breeds can be used in any disapline, although TB's are known for racing and jumping. Arabians can also jump and race. Both are wonderful lifelong, competive parterns.
