Everyone has 24 hours in a day and a limited time on earth. All we need to do is to make the most of that time and work as per the best of our abilities. These days lives have become so stressed that people are finding it difficult to survive each day. You may find it surprising but time management also plays a major role in stress management as well . What most people think about time management is that time management only means excelling in academics. Little do they know that time management is not mere about academics but managing time in general. Managing time for your hobbies , skills , hidden talents like music , dancing etc. Self-Discipline lays the foundation of time management. Self discipline is the one and the only thing that can beat procrastination, the major obstacle in the path of time management. We often believe that the only reason for procrastination is laziness but no it can be a fear of failure , traumatic events in past or much more. Instead of scrolling over reels or random social media posts one should invest their time in a mental game which not only increases the power of the brain but also leads to self motivation and self discipline. No matter if you are a corporate worker , a freelancer , or a businessman you need to be quick and be excelled in time management to fulfill your responsibilities and seize big opportunities for growth. Time management does not mean ruining your social life for being productive. It aims at finding a midpoint between social life and productivity. Hence time management is not about sacrificing one thing for another but finding a balance and channelizing your efforts in the right directions. Time management is an extremely demanding skill which supports other skills For example : If you are a data analyst and a very skilled person still you can’t give your full output in your work if you have not excelled in the art of time management. As everything has a bright side as well as a dark side similarly time management also has a profound bright and a dark side . Though time management is very beneficial and has a very narrow dark side but some of the few disadvantages of time management are listed below : 1. It leads to delay in execution sometimes : Planning before performing a task is a very good and profound habit of time management but excessive planning and calculating all the ifs and buts leads to delay in decision making. 2. Lack of creativity : You work according to your set time table and structured schedule which leaves an almost negligible space for experimenting and creativity. 3. Burnouts : In the process of achieving everything till the deadlines and working too hard often leads to burnouts and frustration issues . Hence time management increases your productivity by fulfilling the tasks on time , stress management by not stressing about submitting tasks last minute , better goals , focused mindset , broad way of thinking , punctuality and what not. “ Time Management = Self Discipline + Self Management”

Time management is an executive function/skill that allows you to prioritize tasks and define the amount of time you will assign to each of these taskss within a sepcif amount of time and stick to that schedule. For example, if you have 2 homeworks, one is easy and believe you can do it within 15 minutes and another one is harder and you believe it will take you 45 minutes. In total the 2 homeworks should take you 1 hour. Time management allows you to keep track of the time spent on each of these homeworks/ tasks and stick to the time alloted to them.
