My baby was 12oz at my 20 week ultrasound and the doctor said that's normal so I'm sure 14oz is good too!
The 20 week ultrasound will determine if the baby is developing normally. The baby's size and the position of the umbilical cord will show. It is also possible to find out the baby's sex at 20 weeks.
In the early weeks of pregnancy fetal growth is fairly consistent and measurements are very accurate in a normal pregnancy. Differences would be most likely to more than one person interpreting the measurements from week to week. After the half way mark at 20 weeks, the difference can be caused by the different people recording measurements, a baby who is small or large for dates, a baby whose growth pattern is not progressing "on average" or by restricted fetal growth - sometimes found in women with severe morning sickness (hyperemesis gravidarum). If the differences are extreme and you are being measured by more than one person, request a recheck by the same healthcare provider several visits in a row.

The most common reason for ultrasound in early pregnancy is to determine how far along you are and figure out a due date. Later pregnancy ultrasounds are usually just routine to make sure everything is normal as the baby grows. Most commonly, a doctor will do a 20 week ultrasound where they will do all of their measurements and make sure everything is developing normally, and tell you the gender if you would like to know. After the 20 week ultrasound, unless you are having complications, it is unlikely that you will get another ultrasound until towards the end if the pregnancy.
