Tecnically it was only 3 areas of the united states that had significant events happen on September 11th. In New York the twin towers fell representing the fall of our economy. In pensilvania a plane was crashed into a field where it was hypothosized that the plane had originally been heading to the capital building to represent the fall of democracy. In Washinton D.C. a plane was crashed into the Penatgon to represent the fall of our defenses. In Wasington D.C. Is where you would get the two other states Maryland and Virginia. But because Washinton D.C. Is technically a district it doesn't count as two more states.
Massachusetts, New York, Virgina, and Pennsylvania.
