I think that really depends on what state you live in and what scholarship you're applying for.
You may be able to get a scholarship with good grades and a good resume. Apply for any and all scholarships in your hometown with civic organizations and sports. You may be able to net some good money for school.
It depends on the school. But, most academic scholarships require a 24 or better on the ACT.
I would look at your hometown, national scholarships and scholarships from your college. Many high schools offer scholarships for their graduating seniors.
I'd say you'd need a solid 21 to get scholarships at least.
Bright futures scholarships are among the top scholarships in Florida due to the amount of money they provide. Reaching an academic level scholarship will award you 100% tuition.
Some scholarships are "need-based." That means that you must need the scholarship; or, in other words, you cannot afford the tuition otherwise. Income does affect eligibility for need-based scholarships. Other scholarships are "merit-based" which means that you earn the scholarship on your talents (high GPA, special abilities, leadership, etc.). Merit-based scholarships do not consider your income.
In Charlotte? The average freshman there has a 20-24. You should aim for a 27, that's when a lot of scholarships kick in.
There are financial need scholarships. As far as I know, however, there are no scholarships for people whose families are poor specifically because they're in debt.
You do not. Scholarships do not always consider financial need. Even if you do have a job, you should still apply for scholarships.
