For the most part it was the Cuban Missile Crisis that made the country so dangerous, but events like the Invasion off Cuba didn't help.
Yes, such was part of the treaty which ended the Spanish-American War.
It depends which Cuban crisis you are talking about. The United States has invaded Cuba twice. The first time was from sinking a military ship. Maybe you have heard of the Rough Riders? They were a volunteer group that was lead by Teddy Roosevelt (before he was president) that was part of the first invasion. The other invasion was during the Cold War. The Invasion was called the Bay of Pigs. Cuba was allied with Russia and threatening the United States with Nuclear weapons.
Florida is the American state closest to Cuba. There are many Cuban immigrants in Florida for this reason.
Mexico and Cuba are separate countries; Mexico is part of the North American continent (south of the United States) while Cuba is an island on the Caribbean Sea, southeast of Florida state.
Cuba is an independent country. It was previously a territory of Spain, but achieved its independence in 1902.
{| |- | Not as Cuba, per se. Cuba was involved in the Spanish-American War as a part of Spain. One of the reasons the US got into that war was the sinking of the USS Maine that was in Havana Harbor at the time. |}
No, Cuba is an island not a plateau.
