A:

The Bible was written by man. The original books were altered and edited by man, even before they were selected for inclusion in the Bible. Further changes were made, even after the books of the Bible were carefully selected from those available. Finally, translation requires choices to be made in how to express meanings that are sometimes hard to translate into English, or which are more meaningful when changed to suit the times. Thus, there is no Bible that has not been altered by men.

Some say that the King James Bible is the best English translation, but this is based more on loyalty to a much-loved Bible than on fact. Evidence of this is that the authorised version uses italics to mark words and passages that the translators knew not to be literal translations, or where they were uncertain of the original meaning.

How many times has the bible been changed?

I would like to rephrase this question. The bible has been edited thousands of times, Sometimes by professionals (King James Version), and sometimes for just easier understanding (Clear Word). Every single one of these bibles have been translated to mean the same thing. Editing over years, as the person above has mentioned, so many times, we will never know, but the bible itself has never changed
