Jingle Bells Jingle Bells...
Don't know whether it was recorded the same year, but Eckstine's MGM single 'Christmas Eve' was released in November 1953.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby is not only the best-selling Christmas/holiday single in the United States, but also the best-selling single of all time, with estimated sales in excess of 50 million copies worldwide.
Either is correct, but you would want to use the first in reference to a single holiday. "Have nice holidays" could be used when there are two holidays close together, like Christmas and New Years.
There's many songs that celebrate the Christmas holiday. But, unless the record chart history has changed, there's only 1 Christmas song that hit #1 on the charts. That would be pop artist Bing Crosby, with the song "White Christmas." Bing introduced the song to the world by singing it in the movie, "Holiday Inn," back in 1942. Now, many artists in various fields of music, including country, have release Christmas music. Many have been hits on various charts. But, I don't know of anybody that has passed Bing Crosby, in having a Christmas single to hit #1 on any chart ~ including the country charts.
