About 50 countries were part of the British Empire. The rest of today's modern countries either didn't exist at the time or were in a different Empire. Some were even independent.

British had many countries fighting along side in ww2 as at the time the british had the British Empire wich was the biggest empire the world had ever seen so many countries in the comenwealth fought along side the british,to name just a few....France,Australia,Poland eventuly America joined in but firstly didnt want to fight in the war and remained nuetral,until Japan bombed what little Navy America had then America came to Frances aid. Colonisit revolted because the British were treating them unfairly. Colonist didnt want to have a war and tried not to by sending treaties to the British such as the Olive Branch Treaty but war had already broke out.
