According to Jewish tradition, Moses was raised in the Egyptian royal court and would have been taught to read and write by Egyptian tutors.
He was treated well, and raised in the context of royalty. Pharaoh sought to have him killed after he (Moses) killed a cruel Egyptian taskmaster (Exodus ch.2), but that was after Moses had already grown up.
Some suggest that his natural mother made him aware of his ethnicity as she raised him for the Egyptian princess
