Triple alliance & the triple Entente
Germany's main allies prior to World War 1 were Austria-Hungary and Italy. These countries formed the Triple Alliance in 1882, which was a defensive alliance aimed at countering the influence of France and Russia in Europe.

Otto Von Bismarck started the alliance system because he felt that France was the biggest threat to Germany's power in Europe. His goal was to make an alliance system that left France with as little allies as possible. This system ultimately backfired and plunged Europe into a devastating war that cost billions in dollars and millions in lives.
Axis alliance
Alliance for Europe of the Nations was created on 2002-06-25.
Italy changed its alliance. Italy wanted to stay neutral, because their alliance was supposed to be defensive, not offensive. Italy changed sides later in the war because the Allies offered them new territory if the Allies were to win World War I.
There were called the Allied Force, The Allies, an ally or the alliance.
Alliance of Independent Democrats in Europe was created on 2005-10-28.
