Three sciences
Maths u probably need a maths (3a and 3b)
A variety of subjects - eg. an art, a language, a humanity
and general English with economics for business
Are you American? I'm assuming you are, since you said 'high school'. I don't know if the requirements to get into Med. school in America are different than in England, so you'll want to double-check this:
Chemistry is essential
At least one out of: Biology, physics, maths, further maths
Some universities prefer you to have all science subjects, while others prefer an arts for the third. As a rule, English literature is well-received (except for Cambridge University, who require all sciences).
The best way to check specific requirements is to email a couple of universities, even if you're still years away from applying and even if you wouldn't necessarily attend them, and ask what they would advise for a successful application to study medicine - they're usually very helpful. It all depends on what the occupation is.
Take the subjects that your good at it and you have confidence! But also it must have sense to your aim...
You need to be a charted accountent is maths - GCSE + A leval english - GCSE accountency- A leval
You need A-C grades to become a teacher
to be a doctor i think you need c grade or more in chemistry, biology, physics, maths and English as well as 5 other subjects that re a grade c or more. but the better the uni you want to get into the higher the grade you need!! ! ; )
sciences and maths
In short - Yes. Most people are aware that there are a number of "core" subjects which students need to study in order to gain good college and university places, and to succeed in the work place. Typically, GCSE English, GCSE Maths and the GCSE dual Science syllabus are the "big three" subjects in this respect, and most employers and further or higher education establishments stipulate grade C or above for GCSE Maths, GCSE English and GCSE dual science as the syllabus for each of these subjects is considered to teach students skills which are vital for all aspects of life. For more information see Which GCSEs should I take link.
Typically, universities will look for 8 A*'s in GCSE but it doesnt really matter which subjects they are in.

science subjects like chemistry and biology
I should imagine you would need 5 a-c gcse's to get you into college on the course you would need. From college, you would gain a qualification(s) to get you into university where you would be able to gain a medical degree or whatever degree you need to do your chosen job. Good luck
English and Maths are essential. Good grades in any of the the other subjects - no subject is a 'must have'
well basically im a 15 year old boy wanting to be a doctor myself, i know that Nottingham university (queens medical centre) will only accept a MINIMUM of 6 a's at gcse, also you need maths, eng and science to be A's. It helps to have work experience, and also you need to take biology and chemistry for a levels(you need A's for them aswell!!). The more commitment in all subjects you show the better. hope this is helpful
