Jesus plays no role whatsoever in Judaism. As for a literal 'child of God', that idea completely violates all teachings of the Tanach (Jewish Bible). NO person was/is/will be a literal child of God according to the teachings of Judaism.

No. There is no part of the Jewish faith that believes Jesus is the son of G-d. One of the 13 principles of Jewish faith is that G-d is non-physical, non-corporeal, and eternal. A corollary belief is that God is utterly unlike man, and can in no way be considered anthropomorphic. All statements in the Hebrew Bible and in rabbinic literature which use anthropomorphism are held to be linguistic conceits or metaphors, as it would otherwise be impossible to talk about God at all. Believing that anybody is a physical son of G-d is ludicrous from a Jewish point of view.

They are called "Messianic Jews," and many Jews who do not believe in Jesus do not consider Messianic Jews to be real Jews.

Jews who believe that Jesus is the Son of God are called Messianic Jews. There are more of them than you might think. I'm Lutheran myself, but sometimes, I think that Messianic Jews have a good idea in that they hang on to the Jewish traditions and teachings that Jesus Himself practiced and followed in addition to believing that the Messiah has actually come to Earth and He is Jesus Christ.

_________

No Jew believes that Jesus is the literal son of HaShem because that concept of an abomination according to HaShem's words in the Torah. Any Jew who chooses to convert to Christianity is a Christian, full stop, and has turned their back on Judaism. Contrary to what the messianics will tell you, it is not possible to believe in Jesus and remain Jewish.

Furthermore, the messianic movement was created by Christian groups, primarily the Southern Baptists, as a concerted effort to convert Jews to Christianity.

Jewish Answer

The idea of God literally having a child goes against the teachings of the Tanakh (Jewish Bible) and Judaism. So no, Jews have never believed that God had a son nor will He ever have a literal son.

What may be a point of confusion is the use of the phrase "My son" in the Tanakh (such as in Exodus 4:22). This phrase was used only to denote that the person or persons in question had a unique relationship with God.

Christian Answer

To this day the Jewish religion does not believe that God had a son. They do not accept Jesus as the son of God and because of that they only adhere to the Hebrew bible, because the New Testament is all about Jesus and his second coming.

Answer

No. The idea of God having a literal child goes directly against the teachings of the Tanakh (Jewish Bible) and almost all historical Jewish teachings. Jews have never believed that God had a son nor will He ever have a literal son.

Additional Discussion

What may be a point of confusion is the use of the phrase 'son of God' in the Tanakh. This phrase was used only to denote that the person in question had a unique relationship with God, with Moses as a prime example. The term is also occasionally used to refer to angels in The Bible. It never refers to a person begotten directly from God.

Although the Qur'an alleges that Jews believe that Uzair/Azrail/Ezra or some similar named person is the Son of God, this is not the case. No Jewish scholar of repute in any major time period has viewed Ezra as anything more than a prophet. Judaism does not even have the Christian Concept of Son of God (which is what the Qur'an is referring to since it uses the same term in the same verse - 9:30 - to refer to the Christian perception of Jesus).

No. Judaism sees Jesus as having been a regular human being and does not believe in the concept of a son of God.

What does it mean if I believe there was a Jesus but that he was not the son of God?

This is actually what Jews and Muslims believe. It is also what Hindus and atheists believe. If you believe that Jesus existed but that he was not the son of God, this does not, by itself, make you a Jew, Muslim, Hindu or atheist, but it does arguably make you a realist. It remains for you to decide which God or gods you believe in, if any.

Jews believe in one God. They do not believe Jesus was God's son, so they do not have trinity like Christians. The trinity is the term used for God, his son, and the Holy Spirit all being part of one God, because it is not a polytheistic religion.
