Well, the iPod is alwas great because it has a sleek design and is amazingly durable. Also the battery lasts for a really long time. As far as memory goes, though, they aren't the best for the price and if you want video capabilities, the cheapest you can get is around $200. There's also the zune, which has tons of memory (up to 80 gigabytes, i think) and has video capabilities. It also is a very good value--much cheapter than the Ipod. It is bulkier, though.
