Why is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict central to all issues in the Middle East?
This is hyperbole and used by Arabs to deflect attention away from the numerous wars and conflicts in the Middle East that have nothing at all to do with Israel or Palestine. Since these conflicts have nothing to do with Israel or the Palestinians and form the overwhelming majority of Middle East conflicts, it is clear that the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict is not central to all issues in the Middle East. Such conflicts include: The Turkish-Cypriot Conflict, the various Kurdish conflicts, the Yemeni Civil Wars (2 of them), the current Syrian Civil War, the Lebanese Civil War (which went on for five years prior to Israeli involvement), the Egyptian-Libyan Sands War, the genocides that went on in Iraq under Saddam Hussein, the Iran-Iraq War (which was the longest war of the 20th century), and the torture and repression of Saudi, Iranian, and Syrian citizens ever since these countries gained independence.
