Nevada has many interesting facts including nicknames, state birds, and state animals. Nevada is known for its mountains and also for its flat valleys. Nevada has had only two glaciers in its whole period of existence. NV is the abbreviated symbol for Nevada. Nevada is also known for its nickname, Silver State, considering their state colors are silver and blue. Nevada was named after the spanish word meaning snow-clad. They have many populous cities, but also some unpopular cities. Las Vegas is one of the most populous cities in the world and it's located in Nevada. Las Vegas is has a population of exactly 552,539. Nevada is also known for their Mountain Bluebird, Bighorn Sheep, and Sagebrush flower. The state song is 'Home Means Nevada.' Nevada is the gambling capital of the United States of America. The capital of Nevada is Carson City which is, surprisingly, unpopular. With 56,062 people living in Carson City, it is extremely known for its mountains. The mountains in Carson City have faint markings that are said to have been made by ancient peoples. That is one reason Carson City has ANY people at all.
