According to the 2011 Ford Escape Owner Guide : For the 3.0 liter V6 engine ( Motorcraft FL-500-S engine oil filter ) For the 2.5 liter four cylinder engine (Motorcraft FL-910 engine oil filter * ) ( * I was looking at www.fordparts.com and it shows part # FL-910 as being a spin on type of oil filter , apparently there is also a cartridge type oil filter , but Ford doesn't show the part # for that )

According to the 2011 Ford Escape Owner Guide ( and one of Fords websites ) For the 2.5 liter four cylinder engine If it has a SPIN ON TYPE engine oil filter it's the ( Motorcraft FL-910 ) * Also , with engine oil filter change , it takes ( 5.3 U.S. quarts of 5W-20 for the four cylinder engine ) Since the website shows a spin on type oil filter I assume there is a cartridge type filter but the website does not show any information about that

Looking up from oil filter and catalytic converter as the place to look from the number is stamped on the edge. Torch is needed.
