The prohibition on Cremation was abolished some years ago. Vatican-II proper overturned a number of church practices dating back centuries. The fast and dietary laws have been watered down to trivial portions ( I hour before communion, when a Mass itself consumes about an hour at the longest). There have been changes, (updatings) made.
