There are currently 85 seas in the world. The famous phrase "the seven seas" referred to the entire body of sea in the world. They were the Artic Ocean, Antarctic Ocean, North Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean. South Atlantic Ocean, North Atlantic Ocean and south Pacific Ocean.
