the rally mowhawks
Singing the school song or hymn brings the students together in a spirit of closeness with the school and other students; singing brings out the school spirit and determination to win that is great for a pep rally.
The song was first played at Fenway Park during the 7th Inning Stretch, beginning at some point during the 2004 season. As the Red Sox began winning and rose to first place, the song became a regular feature of the games, and everyone sang along. (When the team won, the song "Tessie" by the Dropkick Murphys also became a regular part of the games.) Ballplayers are superstitious, and since these songs were associated with winning (first the pennant, and then, finally, winning the World Series after an 86-year drought), the music soon occupied a warm place in the hearts of the fans. "Tessie" is no longer played at the games, but Sweet Caroline has continued to be played, and the fans sing along with the chorus loudly and enthusiastically. Then, after the Boston Marathon bombing in April 2013, there was a big rally held to encourage everyone who had lived through the tragic event. Neil Diamond came to Boston to help cheer people up, and he sang "Sweet Caroline" at the rally, since it is a song that was a big hit for him and a song that has so many positive associations for Red Sox fans.
Revere drew handbills showing the troops shooting colonist, but Adams had nothing to do with it. He was the lawyer for the troops who were put on trial for the event.
